An attic was on fire this morning in Punavuori, Helsinki, just around the corner from our home. The police closed the street and I wasn't able to get any closer. I should have taken another lens with me. No one was hurt. They had to rip of quite of a bit of the roof to get to the fire.

This was the first time in years that I tried to take photos of bands playing without a "real camera". If you consider that a DSLR is a real camera. It was nice. Only some slight adjustment with colours, nothing added or removed.

Almost continuing the same theme. This is supposed to be the hanging tree, or actually part of the fence around it, of Taavetti Lukkarinen. He was a man who got caught helping Germans to escape in 1915 and was hanged in 1916 by the Russians. This was before Finland got her independence.

Got me a new lense today. Tokina 10-17mm and it works just great. Feels good to shoot photos of punk bands again. A bit different than the Sigma 10-20mm which corrects the barrel effect.

This is our youngest cat, Töyhtö. Quite curious and moving fast so didn't have time to get the whole cat in focus and not enough light to use smaller aperture. I broke my flash during the last gigs I was shooting and I really don't like the built in flash. Like I previously mentioned, if you don't get in the pit, you don't get any photos either.

I had a chance to take photos of CMA performing at Tuiskurock this weekend. It wasn't allowed to have a "professional camera" there without a press card, so I smuggled mine in with 50mm and 70-300mm lenses. I took all the photos of CMA with the 50mm. I had a great time with the guys.
